Here’s Why You Queef During Sex (P.s It’s Totally Normal)

I remember the first time I queefed during sex, my then partner asked me to sit on his face and I was so excited because that was my first time sitting on a man’s face. Everything was going just fine until my vagina decided to ‘fart’, omo the way this man pushed me off his face, he legit flung me like a wet rag, I was so embarrassed. At first I thought I farted, I couldn’t even look at him all I could say was ‘sorry’.

He told me it was okay and I shouldn’t be embarrassed because it was just a ‘pussy fart’ but I was already too self-conscious to even continue, so we called it a night. After a few more ‘pussy farts’ and less awkwardness from my partners, I became somewhat confident about them and less embarrassed.

So.. What exactly are Queefs AKA “pussy farts” ?

Queefs are definitely not farts and they are completely normal. A fart comes from the butt and it smells (some of you can kill with your farts but that’s a conversation for another day) while queefs on the other hand are odorless little sounds of air rushing out of your vagina. Queefs occur when a penis, finger or sex toy pushes air into the vagina and that air is temporarily trapped which is then released however, queefs can also occur when exercising or stretching.

A large percentage of women have experienced queefing during sex at least once and experts say that the more lubricated the vagina is, the more likely it is to queef so in other words, the wetter the louder.

How can I make it stop?

Well… you can’t. Unlike a fart, the chances of you holding in a queef are zero to none, however there are a few things you can do to lessen the chances of it happening. Sex positions can either increase or reduce the chances of you queefing. Positions that require you to spread your legs open like butter or keep them in the air for too long may increase the chances of it happening but tbh, who cares? you’ll be so busy having your back blown, neither you or your partner will notice.

In all honesty, you shouldn’t be ashamed of queefing and no one should ever make you feel weird because of it. Understand it is completely normal and you shouldn’t focus all your attention on trying to avoid it. Queefing is a very natural thing, so if your vagina farts during sex (frequently or not), just let your pussy talk her talk. Don’t make a big out of it and enjoy yourself – See it as your vagina expressing herself in one of her many amazing ways.
