If you weren’t in Ijebu-Ode this past weekend, the question is: where were you?

ICYMI – The Ojude Oba Festival 2025 lit up Ijebu Ode and indeed the entire Ogun State in full technicolour. At the heart of the event was Orijin, Nigeria’s leading culturally inspired alcoholic beverage –  the exclusive alcoholic beverage sponsor, bringing its bold Afro-urban identity and deep cultural roots to this century-old celebration of Yoruba pride, making it a perfect match for the moment. It was truly a living tapestry as the brand celebrated its heritage at Nigeria’s grandest cultural festival.

From Princess Adesile’s majestic horseback arrival, her magnificent regalia, to Prince Adeboye Kasali’s stirring tribute to his family’s lineage, Orijin partnered with sons and daughters of the soil to transform this year’s event into a multi-sensory celebration.  The event showcased Yoruba tradition in all its glory, perfectly capturing the spirit of the Ijebu people during their homecoming season after the Muslim Eid.

As anticipated, the various colourful Regberegbe (age-grade groups) made the festival grounds into a cultural parade. At the same time, dignitaries and tourists paid homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland, the revered spiritual and cultural custodian.

In the midst of it all was the lively Orijin’s festival village, working in the spirit of the event, the brand created a dynamic space where young and old could connect with culture in expressive, modern ways. The stage roared with iconic sounds from Saheed Osupa’s Fuji classics to 9ice and Reminisce’s high-energy sets, while guests enjoyed culinary delights, dance competitions, and heritage-themed games, making Orijin Village the festival’s hottest destination..

Speaking on the brand’s cultural role, Yinka Bakare, Marketing & Innovation Director at Guinness Nigeria, noted, “Ojude Oba is a living tribute to identity, pride, and the timeless values of the Ijebu people. Supporting this event reflects Orijin’s belief in honouring culture in meaningful ways that resonate across generations.”

Likewise, Uche Onwudiwe, Head of Marketing, Mainstream Spirits & RTS, noted, “We remain committed to celebrating the soul of our communities. Culture is vibrant, evolving, and worth celebrating boldly – we’re thrilled to have played a part in curating this unforgettable experience.”

This year’s Ojude Oba wasn’t just a moment. With its unapologetic love for culture, flavour, and identity, Orijin indeed felt deeply at home as it wove itself into the tapestry of Ijebu heritage.
