If there’s one thing Nigerian men are good at, it’s lying about their relationship status.
Being lied to or being cheated on has to be one of the worst feelings in the world, especially when you’ve invested so much of your time and energy into both the person and relationship. Here are 7 Nigerian women who share their experiences – some unknowingly and some knowingly – with being the other woman.
1. Vivian, 25
I’m sure people will say I was dumb but we weren’t exactly exclusive. We had been sleeping with each other casually for about 3 months and during the first month, I asked him the what are we question to which he responded that we were adults enjoying each other’s company. That response alone should have drove me away but I was so infatuated by him and his lifestyle that I was content with that rubbish reply.
One day we were having sex when his phone kept vibrating and he legit stopped and pulled out of me, picked up the call and exited the room. When he came back into the room I asked who it was, he didn’t reply me and was just trying to get back inside me but something told me to refuse. I was upset and he could tell but it was obvious that he didn’t care and just wanted to go back to having sex.
After that, the distance was very obvious between us. I’ll call him plenty times, he wouldn’t pick up or return my calls or messages. We hardly saw too. One day after double texting him he replied that he had a girlfriend and would appreciate if I stopped reaching out.
That was all he said to me. Nothing more, nothing less.
2. Kosi, 29
He sold me dreams and told me everything he knew I wanted to hear. He even got me a promise ring which was a very spontaneous act, leading me to believe we had a future together. Until the day I started receiving missed calls from an unsaved number that happened to be his wife.
3. Michelle, 24
This guy I was seeing for more than 5 months randomly told me one day how he was still technically seeing his ex because they had not really officially broken up. That was the day that I realized I hated men.
4. Olamide, 20
He refused to follow me on social media, and his account was locked. I overlooked it but my friends always knew something wasn’t right. Every time I asked why he didn’t want me to follow him, his reply was always the same. Because I don’t post anything, I’m a dead guy.
My friends and I sha planned against him and found out he had a pregnant girlfriend. If my friends hadn’t played FBI, I would never ever have found out, that’s how lowkey he was.
5. Ri, 26
He told me he was divorced and was happy to have gotten out of a ‘toxic’ relationship. When I tell you that I fell for this man, I fell HARD.
He was a bit older than me, like 8 years but it wasn’t a big deal for either of us. We traveled together and did almost everything together, so when I look back at the situation, I’m like.. where did this man even find the time to be two timing two women?
It was all a lie and he was and still is a pathological liar. He was never divorced and was always married. Till today I don’t know how his wife found my number, but she called me to threaten me. She even told me my own house address and said that if I didn’t stop running around with her husband, she was going to ruin my life.
6. Idera, 24
His girlfriend was fully stalking me on Instagram. She kept liking and unliking my pictures for like one week straight until she finally had the balls to send me a DM. I didn’t care tbh, I continued f*cking her man because I wasn’t the one in the relationship with her.
7. Isi, 25
He actually told me himself, but proceeded to get mad at me for getting mad at him for having a girlfriend and being in a serious relationship.
When I tell you that men are mad, they are mad.
