Summer’s quickly coming to an end, and with it, a lot of joy and laughter. Life can sometimes get a little too serious, and the end of summer is usually a ‘reality check’ for some people. So, a good dose of humour and romance to brighten up our days can’t hurt. As August settles in, with the new government and the fuel price hike, it’s the perfect time to inject a little fun and romance into your life.

Here are five little but intentional ways to romanticise your life for the rest of the summer!

The Single Girl Diaries: Never Fall in Love During Summer. It’s a Facade

Love Letters to Yourself

In a world where we often seek external validation, it’s time to shower yourself with love. Grab a pen and paper and get ready to write the most epic love letter to yourself. Embrace your quirks, celebrate your accomplishments, and appreciate all the amazing things that define you. Be your own cheerleader; whether you keep it as a secret treasure or proudly display it on your wall, this love letter will serve as a constant reminder of your awesomeness.

Karaoke and Mirrors

Who says you need a man to watch you sing and fall in love with all your silliness when you’ve got a mirror? Put on your favourite music, turn up the volume, and unleash your inner Beyoncé. Dance like nobody’s watching (because they’re not), and let the music guide you to new levels of self-expression. Remember, the key here is to let go of inhibitions and embrace your inner superstar. So, grab a hairbrush or a spatula as your makeshift microphone, and dance and sing like nobody’s business!

Solo Travel

Who says solo travel can’t be romantic? Plan a hilarious yet charming romantic getaway for yourself. Pack your bags, and head to a budget-friendly destination. Take pictures, relish the moment. Don’t to forget make new friends, you deserve it. After all the hustle and bustle, indulge in all the cheesy romance clichés.

Scatter rose petals on your bed, set up an extravagant bubble bath, light up a scented candle, use that vibrator or simply use the infamous shower head, the goal is to let out all that steam. Don’t forget to order room service and treat yourself like royalty. You deserve all the love, even if you’re the one planning it!

The “Everything Shower“

Who says showers can’t be glamorous? Transform your regular shower routine into a grand affair fit for royalty. Set the mood with scented candles, dim the lights (or use colourful disco lights for an extra touch of fun), and crank up your favourite love songs playlist you saved for that man. Make sure to use all those fancy shower products you’ve been saving for a special occasion. Sing your heart out, practice your best shower dance moves, and revel in the luxuriousness of your “everything shower” experience. You deserve it!

The Closet Purge

It’s time to delete more than just a toxic number from your phone. Embark on a mission to declutter your closet. Bid farewell to those ill-fitting jeans, the sweater that never suited you, and the shoes that always pinched your toes. Create space for new fashion adventures and let go of the clutter that no longer sparks joy. Make room for yourself to look hot, and your wardrobe will thank you.

Summer Reads: Our Top Picks For 2023

From serenading yourself in the shower to decluttering your closet with enthusiasm, these delightful acts of self-love will make your heart flutter and remind you that romance doesn’t always require a partner. So go ahead, embrace the charm, and celebrate the romance of your own incredible journey!
