In 2020, we invited everyone to wrap up the year with a moment of reflection. We encouraged you to revisit the entirety of the year, assessing whether you stayed true to the resolutions set at the beginning of the year.

Responding to popular demand, we’ve chosen to ask you the same question this year: Were your actions in 2023 on the naughty or nice side? Keep reading to find out the responses of 15 Nigerians.

Have You Been Naughty Or Nice This Year? 15 Nigerians Tell Us Where They Belong

1. Omoh, 26

The nicest thing I did this year was buy a gift for a man.

The naughtiest thing was the threesome I had with two men.

Next Year? I plan to definitely be naughty! I like to live life on the edge!

Verdict: Naughty.

2. Stella, 28

The nicest thing I did this year has to be my November appreciation post. I wrote about my close friends and it was honestly so sweet. Sometimes words really do go a long way.

The naughtiest has to be hooking up with my sneaky link.

Verdict: Nice.

3. Nuke, 22

The nicest thing I did this year was send money to some of my friends. Small money, but hopefully I can do more next year.

The naughtiest is when I had sex in my car in the parking lot of a bar. Pretty scandalous because I’m actually a good girl. The security man was giving us death eyes when we were leaving, he definitely saw some shit.

Verdict: Nice.

4. Titi, 23

This year, the nicest thing I did was give. I gave things out to friends, family and charity. I also did a bunch of nice things for myself and my partner.

The naughtiest thing I did this year would probably be the orgy I travelled for. I went to another state with my friends and we partied, smoked, drank and did the deed.

Next year? I’m a good girl o!

Verdict: Somewhere Down the Middle.

5. Anne, 22

The nicest thing I did this year was multiple and intense research for my people. I also got them presents and was always a reliable shoulder/confidant. Additionally, I was scammed because my nice heart wanted to help people who needed cash.

I guess you could call my “running away from home” and dropping out of school, naughty. Reason? It didn’t suit my needs. Am I okay? definitely. I’m happy I took that leap.

Verdict: Human.

6. Otaku, 20

The nicest thing I did this year was help someone out when his money was stolen.

The naughtiest thing I did was drop out of school.

Verdict: No Verdict.

7. Tee, 26

The nicest thing I did this year was gift a lot of people.

The naughtiest was, happily and frequently having sex with someone I wasn’t supposed to be seen with.

Next year? No one’s perfect. Expect a dash of naughty and nice!

Verdict: Nice.

8. Favour, 22

The nicest thing I did was stay loyal to my friends and not be fake b-tch.

The naughtiest was shutting out important people in my life, and I honestly feel so bad about it.

Next year? Omo. Let’s wait and see.

Verdict: Human.

9. Selina, 23

This year I helped people when the need arose.

I also ate stuff in the supermarket without paying.

Does that make me naughty or nice?

Verdict: No Verdict.

10. Hauwa, 24

The nicest thing I did was probably to be present. If you know me, you know how often I disassociate. So, it was nice to actually be there for my friends and family. To put smiles on their faces through thoughtful gestures.

I started the year with two boyfriends but I’m ending it with just one. It was a very confusing year for me because I actually still love them both. The second one turned out to be a narcissist so I had to end things, but I miss him every single day. He was toxic but the sex was tew good. He was an A1 eater too, sigh. I love my current boyfriend but I still find myself missing the other one.

Verdict: Somewhere In-between.

11. Chisom, 26

I faced a challenging situation this year when I had to make a tough decision. I ended up having an abortion because the father was emotionally, verbally and physically abusive towards me. It was a tough decision to make but I knew I couldn’t have a child with someone I had no future with. Every one in my family pressured me to keep the child but I’m happy I chose myself.

The nicest thing I did for myself was making that decision to put my happiness and future first.

Verdict: Brave!

12. Tolani, 28

I had sex with a friend’s ex believing there was a genuine connection and chemistry between us. I even fought with my friend over it because she changed it for me, and I changed it for her in return because I wasn’t even being secretive about sleeping with her ex. I confided in her because I actually fell for the guy, but she made it a bigger deal than it was and ended our friendship. At the end of the day, I learned why the guy wasn’t worth the headache. He turned out to be a misogynistic prick. The nicest thing I did was support my best friend by lending her money to kickstart her business.

Verdict: No Verdict.

13. Leke, 33

This year brought financial prosperity my way, allowing me to rent an apartment for my girlfriend. I was happy to do that for her considering the challenging year she had. Making her happy made me happy. Then the most risqué thing I did was have sex with a stripper.

Verdict: I Don’t Even Know.

14. Susan, 24

The nicest thing I did was for myself. I walked away from a fool I sadly fell in love with. He was obsessive and when I finally decided to end things, he threatened to leak our sex tape. I still ended our relationship and guess what? He didn’t leak anything. Coward. The naughtiest thing I did was when I had sex with a total stranger I met at a party. At least I used protection.

Verdict: Naughty.

15. Dupe, 23

This year turned out fantastic for me. After some (very) deep self-reflection, I discovered my true self and my aspirations. In February, I took the bold step of leaving school to kickstart my own fashion brand, and the results have been great. That’s the nicest thing I did, and I’m so thankful to God for clarity. The naughtiest (and boldest) thing I did was block my family members for the majority of the year. Before you judge me, they are very toxic.

Verdict: Human.
