We all have that everyday bag (that one purse that’s able to carry your many items and also happens to go with every outfit you wear, you know the one) and of course, we all have certain beauty and non-beauty related products we can never leave the house with. In our new series, In Her Bag, we’re asking women to share their everyday bag, and the top 5 items you can always find in there. First up, It’s Toyosi Alexis, and she can’t get enough of her YSL Sunset Mono Crossbody Bag.

Hi! I’m @toyosialexis. I am a content creator, speaker and self-love coach who inspires young women to be more self-aware and resilient in all that they do. I am also the co-founder of Keïta Lagos (@keitalagos) a brand dedicated to bringing Africa to the forefront. Alongside that, I work as a Phonak ambassador (@phonak) inspiring young people with disabilities to realize the full potential that they are unaware they possess.

My everyday bag is the YSL Sunset Mono Crossbody because it just goes well with almost every outfit! Here are the top 5 items you can always find in my bag.

This is truly a work of art! I always take it everywhere with me. I don’t use any other lipgloss, but that’s mainly because I like how this does not leave a white residue on my lips, which most lip glosses do these days. It’s also very nourishing and hydrating, which is perfect for a no-makeup day when I want my lips to look extra plump and shiny.

Something about wearing lipgloss without lipliner doesn’t sit well with me. No shade to the girls who do it, it’s just what I prefer. My go-to is the MAC Chestnut lipliner, and I can see why it remains one of the best liners for black girls. It just brings the whole look together, whether you’ve gone for a soft glam look or a no-makeup look; it doesn’t do too much and gives exactly what it needs to.

You can always find sunscreen in my bag because I believe every girl should keep one in her purse to reapply throughout the day. I never used to buy sunscreen, but once I did, I noticed a huge difference in my skin so it’s now an everyday necessity for me. It also doesn’t leave a white cast and keeps my face moisturized, which I really love. Imagine me allowing the sun to damage my skin; no way, hun!

Because my lips get dry throughout the day, I always carry this around with me. It’s very moisturising and leaves my lips feeling luscious. It also has a pleasant flavour, which I enjoy to some extent.

Taking my hearing aids with me when I go out is obviously essential because I’m deaf lol, and I love that they’re Bluetooth so I can listen to music on the go if I’m in an uber or walking somewhere. The pouch is also key for me because I carry my filters with me in case I need to change them quickly on the go. It’s also ideal because I can store my charger and spare hearing aids in there.
