Grammy Awards 2024: Best and Worst Looks

Music’s biggest night, the Annual Grammy Awards, was held on Sunday in Los Angeles, with many of our favourite artists in colourful attendance. If you’re a religious follower of this star-studded event, you would know that the music is only one part of why people get excited about it. The other part is, *fashion*. The Grammy Awards show is basically prom night for artists and has been the site of many phenomenal looks and looks we wished we could wipe out from our brains forever.

For the 66th Grammy awards, a lot of the nominees and attendees went for elegance and glamour, with dashes of sexiness, while others unfortunately went off course. We rounded up some of the best and worst (sorry) looks of the night.

Our Favourite Looks (In No Particular Order)

Ayra Star

Time after time, Ayra Starr has proven to us that she is the ultimate pop girlie that young Nigerian women need. She may not have won a Grammy this year, but she has announced herself as a glowing star with this whimsical sari-like  two-piece. It’s a ten over ten.

Coco Jones

The Best New Artist nominee and “ICU” singer stunned in this sparkly beaded plunging neck line dress. An absolute vision to behold.

IMG 5637

Tyla

The fit is fitting, the sheer is sheering and the ruffles are ruffling. This is the dress you wear to become the youngest African artist to win a Grammy. That shade of green was very dangerous, but she managed to pull it off. Congratulations Tyla!!

Victoria Monet

The “On my Mama” singer gave us a sophisticated glamour in this bronze Versace corset dress.

Summer Walker

Ms. Walker ate this avant-garde look down. How does someone look this good in a head-to-toe feather ensemble AND have a defined waistline? One word: MOTHER.

Chloe Bailey

The singer was feeling and looking like pure hotness in a cut-out embellished dress and minimal jewelry.

Janelle Monae

The Grammy nominee was a show-stopper in this sequin gown by Armani Privé. In my moderately humble opinion, no single human has any business looking that incredible.

Halle Bailey

Easily one of the best dressed at the Grammys 2024. Hollywood’s newest mom looked absolutely gorgeous in this Gucci piece.

Paris Hilton

Our OG White IT girl walked the red carpet in a shimmery sequin aquamarine gown and matching glittery accessories and she did not disappoint.

Madison Beer

She looked gorgeous in this princess ball gown. The choice of color—white, lended the look a clean simplicity. We loved everything about it.

Coi Leray

The “Players” rapper oozed chicness in this black blazer body suit, very Rihanna-esque. The lime-green feather jacket was the icing on this cool cake.

Least Favourite Looks (In no particular order)

Kat Graham

This Vampire Diary alumni deserves better. I need everyone involved in putting this look together, plus the person that drove her to the red carpet, arrested immediately.

Doja Cat

The “Paint the Town Red” singer has made it clear to us on several occasions that she does not care to cater to the male gaze, and the expectations of her fans on how she should live her life. Fair enough. If this is another attempt at being controversial, she won. She looks like she hasn’t had a bath in 4 days and that’s worth talking about.

Ice Spice

Denim on denim, fur, big gold cross, obnoxious belt, altogether? Yes actually. I see the vision and if styled properly, it can be a hit. The princess of rap though, did not understand the assignment.

075437A6 F22F 48D5 8AFF EFFB34094162

Billie Eilish

*Inserts yawn that threatens to swallow everything within my vicinity* Next, please.

D4B73287 7EA0 41E3 A0C7 1D1E1EE9ABF0

Taylor Swift

I really want to love this look, I really want too, but I can’t. The custom gown by Schiaparelli screams classic Hollywood diva, but the long black gloves, the layered necklaces and the hair that is pushed to the front, are all wrong.

Lauren Daigle

Who lied to her that it was Rag Day she would be attending and not the Grammys? It’s not good oh.

E34E0FD6 C035 4B88 987D C9497217FAE4

Miley Cyrus

This is the outfit you wear to go and receive an award at the 66th Amazon Warrior Princess Award Show. Not the shoes though, those custom tabis are everything.

8BC4248A 3C52 4B41 BAAF 5BA1288AF728

Dua Lipa

I sat with it. I took it in. I let it marinate. I even opened my mind to the possibilities. My conclusion was that this list will be incomplete without the dress.

Elle Goulding

It’s the Grammys! Stand out! Make odd choices! Be audacious! But not like this!

86CAE757 F075 4FB9 8ACE 29E745FC4930

Kelly Osbourne

No one can convince me that Kelly’s stylist doesn’t hate her. Period.

5B7106B5 49EA 4D4C 904E C70B5FFB367E

Lana Del Ray

The head bow, the hand bow, the waist bow, the shoe bow, all at once??? The length is terrible, and the look of darkness is reminiscent of a funeral. Lana, we will mourn your missed opportunity to slay at music’s biggest night.

All in all, this wasn’t an incredible fashion year for the Grammys. It seems like a lot of Stars are losing style recipes. Let’s see what next year brings.
