Lagos Cocktail Week Had a Gordon’s Diner, and It Was a Whole Vibe!
Finding that one spot at an event where everything just clicks is one of the best things about going out. At this year’s Lagos Cocktail Week, Gordon’s nailed it with a diner that easily stole the show, turning the two-day festival into an unforgettable celebration of Good Times.

It ran from 22 to 23 October at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. The long-anticipated event drew content creators, lifestyle enthusiasts and cocktail lovers from across the city. Right in the thick of it, Gordon’s space felt like the hit hangout spot where everyone wanted to be, bringing together good drinks, a lively atmosphere and a crowd that made the experience even better.

One of the reasons the Gordon’s Diner was impossible to ignore was the setup which was an attention grabber. The retro-inspired space made a strong impression with bold brand colours, carefully arranged bottle displays and disco-inspired lighting. But there was more to it than good looks. A massive interactive mural invited guests to pick up paintbrushes and add their own strokes to a shared artwork, turning a blank canvas into a colourful creation shaped by everyone who took part.

Naturally, the drinks were a big part of the attraction. Mixologists kept the bar busy with Gordon’s-based cocktails, giving guests plenty to sip on as they caught up with friends and enjoyed the atmosphere. Things got even more interesting during the Gordon’s Mixologist Challenge, when Nollywood actor Mike Afolarin went head-to-head with lifestyle creator Jema Emmanuel in a cocktail-making contest. With guests watching and voting for their favourite, Mike emerged as the winner and earned the title of Chief Mixology Officer for the night.

And just when guests thought they had explored all the options, there was the ice cream bar. The dedicated station offered a selection of toppings and sauces, letting guests customise their treats and switch things up between cocktails. Because sometimes, the only thing better than a good drink is having dessert to go with the good times.

Between the vibrant photo spots, the constant flow of cocktails, and a lively after-party that stretched deep into the night, the diner gave everyone plenty of reasons to stay and soak in the moment.

At the end of the day, Gordon’s didn’t just show up to Lagos Cocktail Week; they built a space that captured what a real night out with your favourite people is supposed to feel like pure, unfiltered good times.
