For years, blush occupied an odd place in my makeup routine. It was one of those products I admired on other people but rarely reached for myself. A swipe of lip gloss, a touch of highlighter, and I was out the door. Blush always felt like an optional extra—pretty, but unnecessary.
Then came the Yanga Beauty Candid Blush. Promising a natural flush and buildable colour, it made me wonder if I’d been underestimating what a good blush could actually do. So, I put it to the test. From the packaging and pigment to wear time and whether it can survive a long day in Lagos heat, here’s everything you need to know before adding the Candid Blush to your makeup bag.
First Impressions Matter

The packaging? If I had to decide between two products (in this case, blush) that have the same quality, then my final decision would be based on how the product looks on the outside. I like the idea of a simple design, but personally, this wasn’t exactly thrilling to reach for. That asides, it was easy to open and close without smudging all over. Definitely a win because it reduces stains in makeup bags.
I love how I can see the shade color without having to unbox the entire package. Not all makeup brands think of that.

Is the Candid Blush Waterproof?
I tried a hand test patch for one hour and got no skin reaction, but what made me raise an eyebrow in interest was the fact that it didn’t wash away easily, even in running lukewarm water. Could this be waterproof? I had to confirm.
As a simple makeup girly, I tried two simple tests: the blush on my bare face and a simple glam (primer > the blush > pressing powder > highlighter). No setting spray was used!
A quick splash of water gave me my answer: the Candid Blush holds up well against water. It stayed put without immediately washing away, making it a great option for anyone who sweats easily or wants their makeup to last throughout the day.

How Did the Texture Feel on My Skin?
It’s one thing for a face product to have a good-looking texture, and it’s another for it to actually feel good on you. As someone with combination skin, the Candid Blush felt easy on my skin—non-greasy, lightweight, and smooth.
I waited five minutes before blending it in, and no creasing or dryness occurred. It was almost seamless.
How Intense Is the Color Pigment?
If I were recommending this blush to you, here’s my favorite why: the pigment intensity is just right. Whether you’re a little extra or just like to keep it simple, any amount will do, so you don’t have to constantly apply more on your face to get the result you want.
This makes it great for long-term product use, which is budget-friendly

How Long Does It Last?
Let’s talk about this, guys! Long-lasting makeup is the real tea, and this blush is exactly that. I wore it for six hours without setting spray—that’s how much I wanted to know what’s up with the blush.
Now I see what the big idea is! It still looked fresh and natural. The only thing I noticed within those hours was a little creasing (which is normal), but you could literally still see the blush in place.
That’s pretty impressive, if you ask me!
What I Think About the Shade Differences
Before moving on, the Yanga Beauty blush comes in five shades: CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, and CB5.
Genuinely, as a consumer, I would have preferred an actual description tagged along with the names of the shades, e.g., CB1: a light baby pink color that gives you that soft Barbie look.
This would make it easier for me to decide which shade I would most likely go for, depending on the makeup style I want to achieve.Nevertheless, The shade range is well thought out. Each colour feels distinct enough to stand on its own, so I rarely felt the need to mix shades to achieve the look I wanted.
How Versatile Is This Blush?
For someone starting out, I like the idea of using blush already! I know I can use this as a base eyeshadow and for a lip combo pigment.
Can the Yanga Beauty Candid Blush Convince a Blush Hater?
I’ve not particularly hated the idea, but the “blush trend” never got me. This Yanga beauty Candid Blush made me see a new possibility for using blush in my makeup routine.
Shout out to CB3! That shade is so good, and it’s my favorite pick so far!

This Is Why I Love The Yanga Beauty Blush
•It’s water proof and sweat resistance
•I love its smooth and non greasy texture
•It doesn’t smudge all over the container
•It’s versatile. I can use it for my eyeshadow or lip.
•It has the perfect colour intensity
•The pigment is impressive and stays vibrant for hours without fading.
My Least Favourite Things About The Yanga Beauty Blush:
•The packaging didn’t quite win me over. While it’s functional and easy to use, the design feels a little too simple and doesn’t stand out on my vanity.
•The shade names could be more descriptive. While each blush is labelled with a shade name, the packaging doesn’t explain what each shade actually looks like or the kind of finish it creates. Descriptive names would make choosing the right shade much easier, especially when shopping online or repurchasing a favourite.
Final Verdict: Will I Recommend The Yanga Beauty Blush?

I’ll keep it simple: this blush completely changed how I feel about wearing blush. Before trying the Yanga Beauty Candid Blush, I rarely considered it an essential step in my makeup routine. Now, I can see how a good blush can instantly brighten the face and pull an entire look together.
If you’ve never been sold on the “blush effect” or you’re looking for an easy, beginner-friendly product, I’d definitely recommend giving this blush a try. The formula is easy to work with, the shades are flattering, and it makes experimenting with blush feel effortless. While the packaging could be more exciting and the shade names could be clearer, the product itself delivers where it matters most.
